Big Art for Little Artists

Liverpool's Walker Art Gallery has launched an exhibition aimed at children up to 8 years old. Called Big Art for Little Artists, the aim is to encourage learning through play and comprises several zones, including the doing, dressing up and story zones. Launched by Loyd Grossman OBE, who is chairman of National Museums Liverpool, the focus of the collection is the Silly Sums display, a fun way of teaching children numbers one to 10, according to the BBC. Helping to keep things lively for the kids are The Little Artists, "a couple of mischievous characters" who help with the activities. For more details, visit the National Museums Liverpool website and click on the Big Art link at http://www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/walker

The gallery is open 10am to 5pm every day and entrance is FREE! No doubt this latest initiative will see Liverpool Museums continuing the massive growth in visitor numbers it has enjoyed in recent years.
