Gormley statues drive £6 million tourist boom

Antony Gormley's Another PlaceAntony Gormley's 'Another Place' statues on the Crosby seafront are on track to deliver a £6 million windfall for the local economy. The iron men have already brought £3 million to the area on the back of the 300,000 visitors who have already seen the atmospheric work, which cost just £150,000 to install. Visitor numbers are now expected to double over the summer, with takings set be augmented by a new line of merchandise. Postcards and posters are available from the South Sefton website. The sculptures are set to be shipped to New York in November.
