Lord Mayor’s parade to be ‘visual extravaganza’

Liverpool Lord Mayor's Parade buntingThis year's Liverpool Lord Mayor's Parade promises a 'visual extravaganza of colour and creativity' according to the Liverpool08 website. The parade will start at 1pm on Saturday 3rd June from Pall Mall with the theme of 'performance', tying in with Liverpool's fourth themed year in the lead up to 2008. The 34th Lord Mayor's parade will also be the greenest, with lorries replaced where possible by fuel-efficient vehicles. All money raised will go to the Lord Mayor's charity appeal, with this year's beneficiaries the North West Air Ambulance, Royal British Legion and People's Dispensary for Sick Animals. It will be the first parade for the city's new Lord Mayor, Joan Lang. And there's just time to get nominations in for the Parade Prince and Princess, who will accompany the Mayor at the head of the parade. Those hoping to get a friend or relative nominated just need to send a photograph and a sentence on why they should be crowned Prince or Princess to: Osmar Media and Marketing, 74 Derby Lane, Old Swan, Liverpool L13 3DN or call 0151 228 2255. But you've only got until tomorrow!
